"Simon, Nannette, Jenny and, David, have been here since  August 1984, first as a private breeding farm for thoroughbreds, including lay-ups  from the track.   We took our first boarder in 1987( she is still here), and put in our first arena."  Jenny since has married moved to England with her husband had our grandson and most recently managed a historical pub in famous Bath (known for the historical Roman Baths. David is currently half way thru his Bachelors in drafting and still helps part time on the ranch

We hold several events each year for our clients, including; play days, barbeques, cow sorting, camping, trail rides and Christmas parties.

It was in 1990 when we changed the operation to full time boarding which includes a fully lit 100 X 280 arena  ( upgraded in 2002), plus a  full size dressage court located amongst the almonds. At that time we cared for 24 horses, we have now more than tripled that number to over 80+.

In 2003 we expanded to including a retirement pasture under the shade of almond trees, but more recently it has many younger horses occupying it

In 2008 we expanded by adding a jump arena, relocating the dressage court for future horse shows, plus added a smaller arena for free exercising the horses even over jumps

Our clients enjoy a warm friendly atmosphere and for the last thirteen years Ramon has tended to their horses. His son Fernando joined our team October of 2007. Also our son David helps out when he is not studying and Nannette helps with health issues and runs our dressage shows

Our dressage shows (Dressage in the Almonds) have now become so popular, that riders come from all over Northern California.  After 13 years (2008) we expanded to two full courts. We now host 4-6 recognized dressage shows a year.

We can house up to 80 horses in..... 8 stalls (w/runs)...28 paddocks (from 864sq ft to 2400 sg ft).....7individual grass paddocks....6 pastures for 38 horses

And if you are a little curious about where the stable name came from click here..... the late Mardee Kidd, his brother Val and his father, Hobson were also involved in thoroughbred racing for many years. Val and his father, spent some time as trainers. Mardee preferred to be a breeder/owner as much of his time was spent running the grocery stores. Mardee started Mar Val Stables in 1975
